Board Nominations

Homestead Co-op values every member and invites those with an interest in leadership to consider putting their name forward for nomination to our Board of Directors. 

As a Director, you’ll help set the course for our Co-op, influence decisions that impact over 25,000 members, and ensure our values of Integrity, Excellence and Responsibility remain at the heart of everything we do. Attributes that Strengthen our Board

Our Board welcomes individuals who demonstrate a commitment to co-operative principles and community-focused leadership, including:

• Homestead Co-op members in good standing.
• Previous Board experience and the ability to honour Board decisions and confidentiality.
• Professional or volunteer experience in areas such as law, finance/accounting, marketing, human resources, real estate/property management, health care, or operational logistics.
• Knowledge of retail grocery, agriculture, pharmacy, petroleum, or home and building supplies.
• Ability to read and understand financial statements.
• A collaborative, respectful approach to decision-making.
